Samsung Galaxy A01, the South Korean tech giant’s latest budget smartphone, has finally arrived in PH.

The phone was first announced at the end of 2019, but it’s just making its way to the world two months after. We spotted the Galaxy A01 in Samsung Philippines’ website and over three weeks after it’s now in stores.

For a recap, the Samsung Galaxy A01 is packed with a low-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and tiny 16GB of onboard storage. The good news is that it’s capable of handling up to 512GB of microSD card (dedicated slot), so users who need more storage can easily upgrade.

The display is a 5.7-inch screen with Infinity-V notch and HD+ 1520 x 720 pixel resolution. It’s kinda small for today’s standards, but it should work well with its limited 3,000mAh battery capacity. It’s also running on Android 10 out of the box.

As for cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A01 has a 13-megapixel main and 2-megapixel depth sensing lenses. In addition, there’s a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls.

Other features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Dual SIM, GPS, and more. Security-wise, there’s no fingerprint scanner included but there’s face unlock and the traditional pattern lock.

As you can see, it’s clear that Samsung decided to cut corners in order to offer an even more affordable alternative to the likes of the Galaxy A10s and A20s.

The Samsung Galaxy A01 is now available in the Philippines for a price of only Php5,490. Color options are blue, black, and red.
