Huawei recently launched its newest smartphones, the Nova 7 series. At the same time, the brand also unveiled the newest Huawei MatePad. Just as the name suggests, it is the more affordable version of the Huawei MatePad Pro.

This new Huawei MatePad features a 10.4-inch IPS display and comes powered by a Kirin 810 processor. It is available in 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Moreover, the tablet has a huge 7,250mAh of battery capacity which supports 18W wired fast charging.

The other feature of the MatePad is its 8-megapixel rear camera that comes with autofocus. Meanwhile, its front camera is another 8-megapixel lens.

Huawei markets the MatePad as an educational resource. That is why, it comes with various learning resources and a user interface that’s mainly for the said purpose. Just to add, the tablet also has four Harman Kardon-tuned speakers and four microphones. It also uses various multimedia features for easier virtual learning.

Since the tablet’s main purpose is for reading, Huawei MatePad also comes with special reading mode which produces a monochrome e-paper experience. Furthermore, it monitors the user’s viewing distance and posture.

The software on the Huawei MatePad also has a multi-window support for other EMUI 10.1 devices. It also support Huawei’s M-pencil stylus. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have Google Mobile Service.

The Huawei MatePad comes in white color in three variants. First is the 4GB+64GB WiFi that retails for a price of CNY1,899 (~Php13,600). Second is the 6GB+128GB WiFi that costs CNY 2,199 (~Php16,000). Lastly, is the 6GB+128GB LTE which retails for CNY 2,499 (~Php18,000).
