At long last, Steam finally announced that it’s now accepting GCash as a mode of payment.
GCash as a mode of payment on Steam is a dream come true for a lot of Filipino gamers. As you know, GCash is one of the most popular e-wallet services in the Philippines that allows most people to make online purchases without a credit card.
According to Steam, the GCash payment will be handled by the Smart2Pay website. GCash will now join Steam’s other modes of payment: PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, and eClub.

How to pay on Steam using GCash
Step 1: Add to Cart the game you want to purchase
Step 2: Choose whether you want to purchase it for yourself o send it as a gift. Alternatively, if you want to add more games to your cart, click “Continue Shopping”.
Step 3: Under the payment method section choose GCash. Then, click Continue.
Step 4: Double-check the details presented. Then, click the check box to agree with Steam’s subscriber agreement. After, click Continue to Smart2Play.
Step 5: You will then be redirected to the GCash website where you have to input your GCash number. Once done, click Next.
Step 6: You’d then receive a 6-digit code via SMS, which you have to type here. If you didn’t receive any, make sure you have enough signal. GCash will resend the code after 300-seconds if you didn’t put any. Once done, click Next.
Step 7: The last step would be typing your GCash 4-digit MPIN. The one you use when signing in to your GCash account. Once done, you shall receive an email from Steam and a text from GCash confirming your purchase.
